Student Help Desk

The Student Help Desk is located within the Frank Haney Union and serves as a resource for students that need one-on-one assistance with email, Microsoft Office, and iPad support.  Below are a few common questions that arise throughout a semester.  Explore the topics below:

MyNEMCC (Requires Okta)

MyNEMCC is a one-stop shop for Northeast information.  Items such as your student profile, account information, and registration information can all be accessed through the MyNEMCC dashboard. For student security, a Multifactor process through Okta is used when signing in to Northeast services.  It is necessary for a student to create an Okta account and log in using the Okta credentials.

Logging in for the first time?

If you are a new student and need to create your Okta SSO (single sign on) for the first time, check your personal email for an invitation message from Okta.  This email will say "NEMCC - Welcome to Okta!" and include a link to activate your Okta account.  These emails are sent when a student is accepted to Northeast.  Please read and follow the instructions on this email.

Example Okta email Common questions include:

  1. What if I can't find my Okta email?  Check your junk folders to see if your mail app pushed it to that location.
  2. What if I still can't find the email?  It is possible that the personal email on file is not the one you currently are using.  Reach out to the Help Desk and someone will follow up with you to get you started.
  3. What if my link says "expired token"  or  "contact system administrator"?  Reach out to the Help Desk for support.

Forgot your password and need to reset?

If you have previously activated your Okta account, but now are unable to sign in because you have forgotten your password, you will use the password reset option.  This process will require the following steps:

  1. Access MyNEMCC. Forgot password display for Okta
  2. When prompted to login, click "Need help signing in?" at the bottom of the password bar.
  3. Choose "Forgot password."
  4. You will be prompted to enter your Northeast email address, and a password reset link will be emailed to your personal email.
  5. Access your personal email, and follow the prompts to reset your Okta SSO password. (*Note:  If you do not have a personal email on file, you must visit the Admissions and Records Office in Ramsey Hall to have that added to your account).
  6. Be sure to write down your new password in your notes/phone because this has now become your password for all NE logins.

*Remember the following password requirements*

  • Must include an uppercase letter
  • Must include a lowercase letter
  • Must include a digit [0-9]
  • Must include one of the following special characters [!#$%&*-] (cannot be at the beginning)
  • It cannot be a password you have used before

  • The password cannot have your name (first, middle, or last) or the word tigers.
